Fascinating account of a lady in waiting, close to the Russian and British Royal families
Evocative and interesting account of the life of Emily Loch and her role as Lady in Waiting to Princess Christian, daughter of Queen Victoria, and their life at Cumberland Lodge including their visits abroad visiting other members of the European Royal families including the Tsarina Alexander. The story of Emily continues to discretely keep the secrets she must have been privy to but the book is very evocative of the era and makes the tragedy of the death of the Russian Royal Family personal and even more heart wrenching.
