Interesting album for Gene Clark fans
I'm a huge fan of Gene Clark's music, both on his own & with the Byrds, especially the albums "White Light" & "No Other". Definitely 1 of the best singer/songwriters of his time & that voice is a real trump card. This is a nice enough album, but I'd suggest its one for the more serious Gene Clark completists. It does feel more like a collection of demos than a complete album and the sound is a bit thin in parts.

Lost classic
I've been having a great time lately tracking down long-lost & half-remembered albums from way back, & "Moments" is one of the best.Alas people probably know Boz Scaggs from his later "Lido Shuffle" bland soul period. I hadn't heard "Moments" since '82 or so until getting this. Its a good album of its period - more soul than rock, despite BS' previous with the Steve Miller Band (check out "Sailor" & "Children of the future") - but for me it all comes down to 1 track: the closing instrumental, "Can I make it last (or will it just be over)" is an alltime favourite & the reason I never forgot this album. And I'm glad to say it still works after all this time... There are plenty of other good tracks too, especially "We been away", "Alone, alone" & "Near you". Usually 2-on-1 reissues have 1 good album + a right clunker, but the other 1 here, 1971's "Boz Scaggs & Band" is good too, tho short maybe of a really outstanding track. Its always good to see old heroes make it & get paid, but by the time of 1976' super-slick "Silk Degrees" & its 3 hit singles, he'd moved a bit too far from his roots for me - but that's obviously a personal (& minority) opinion. Just listen to "Moments" late at night & feel the West Coast vibe coming on strong - & then put on the headphones for "Can I make it last"...
