Superb storytelling

This is the film that created Robert Eggers' reputation, and remains the best thing he has done. Wonderfully atmospheric, with great performances from Anya Taylor-Joy and Ralph Ineson, it treats its audience with respect - not just providing a stock series of "jump cuts" but offering a story that is unnervingly horrifying on multiple levels.
