Russian, German and Austrian history 1848-1918.
It’s rather dated stylistically (1974), but is generally historically accurate, informative and entertaining.

It is a well-written, thoroughly-researched and fascinating account of a wealthy man’s mental illness in the mid 19th century, and the effect that his illness had on his family.
