You just don't need another vacuum cleaner

I upgraded from a v3 and I didn't want to have to buy again the extra tools. v7 and later use a slightly different way of connecting the tools, The v6 sucks a bit harder than the v3. I think the floor tool is actually inferior to the v3 in terms of picking things up but it doesn't get clogged up with hair all the time which is a big plus. The negative of this is that the hair all ends up in the collection can which is then harder to empty without using your fingers. You cannot win!
