Caimore 'eternal' mk3 3/4 Trout Fly Reel - New

Good Quality reel

I have a Caimore eternal reel in 5/6# but have re-equipped down to 3# for my chalk stream fishing and wanted another good quality 3# reel with an adjustable drag so that I can play the fish one handed. I have wasted too much money on bargain reels, so based on the great fun I have had playing the fish one handed on my 5/6# Cairmore reel, I had no hesitation getting another Cairmore in the lighter weight and I have not been disappointed. The spool capacity is less than the 5/6# but that is naturally to be expected as the reel is smaller overall and I do not need much line as most of my chalk stream fishing is within 25' or so. However, its performance is identical to the larger reels and the drag can be set from free running to locked solid and I have found it very easy to adjust the drag to match the size of fish I have on. I fish left handed and converting the reel to left handed is very easy - just follow the instructions in the box and you will not have any problems. The protective lacquer is tough and protects the reel remarkably well, as I would have expected my older Cairmore to have received a number of chips by now but it has survived impressively well. I like these Cairmore reels and can see little difference between them and milled aluminium reels which cost three or four times the price; there is certainly no difference in performance from my perspective. I would happily buy another should the need arise.

Excellent Collapsible Cleaning Rod

Very pleased with this three section rod; ideal for users who do not want a single section rod. It is small enough to keep in my cleaning kit box, so that all my cleaning kit is kept together. The three brass sections screw together firmly and perform as if it was a single section rod with no visible joins once assembled.
