dont know why it was discontinued...it works well for light duty use. Versatile because it has a lot of tips including small enough for eyeglasses etc, and all fit in handle so you don't lose them

Better than the inexpensive options available elsewhere

lot of fake ones of this version or similar cheap ones out there. This looks real. Product hasn't changed since....no one even knows. It does what it is supposed to do....picks things! The difference between this and the pretenders is hardened steel. Strong, stays sharp and doesn't bend, but it will break because it is brittle, which comes with being hardened.The older ones had logo stamped lightly on the barrel of the handle. This one did not

Excellent for what it is designed to do

great product for small mass soldering that requires careful heat control such as board component replacement. if you are doing something like replacing RCAs or connectors with a lot of metal to heat up you will be sitting still with your soldering iron a lot. Good workstation and controls,long cords.it is a real tool.
