Great for a starter or as a spare set
An excellent starter pack and although they are only thin discs rather than traditional stones, they work just as well and are easy to use and understand.

Not a great straightener
I'm not keen on these - they're okay for a spare pair or a pair you're taking in holiday and are likely to lose or break but I just found that they didn't work as well as any other straighteners I've used (including Asda's £7 straighteners which I had for years and always did a brilliant job on my naturally curly hair).
The problem seemed to be that they just didn't get hot enough to do a proper job and the other issue I found was the placement of the switch!
On my old straighteners, the switch is on the inside of the handle but on these, the switch is on the outside on the handle grip and it slides too easily so I often found I was accidentally turning the damn things off repeatedly as I tried to straighten my hair.

A good basic for the shed/garage
Really easy to use and strong enough to do a good, quick job and the handles make it easy to change which direction you're holding the shears in but still be comfortable to hold and use.
Comes with its own blade protection pouch.
