Fear and Liberation
Brief comment - excellent and compelling reading. A descent into a nightmare. Also a persuasive argument for private military companies.

Interesting but 'case dismissed'
I don't think that the author justifies his claim that the Battle of Britain victory was 'stolen' by the RAF and/or the popular press. For a book claiming that the 'many' were just as important he spends page after page listing the RAF actions just as many other authors before him have done.
Of course, there were others involved in the action to defend Britain but the majority of enemy aircraft were attacked and defeated by Fighter Command. Even in sport it is the goal or run makers that get the accolades despite their success being the result of team effort.
Many fighter pilot accounts that I have read conscientiously and appreciatively mention the work of their aircraft riggers and engineers, ground staff of all natures etc.
A far more iconoclastic and interesting view of WW2 is to be found in Peter Hitchen's book The Phoney Victory. In that you will find he quotes from this book but far exceeds it in scope. Read that rather than this for a more solid view of this complex event.
