Beautiful quirky album

This trio sound like they were always meant to be together. Andy Sheppard's lyricism couldn't have found a better home than here, weaving with Steve Swallow's bluesy lines over Carla Bley's quirky, almost sculptural phrasing. A lot of the album sounds more improvised than composed, to be honest, but it's all the better for it with players of this standard who breathe as one.
