Old Computer Is Still Practical, Useful, and Still Expandable.

The machine is very quick and was quite a performer for its time. It is actually as good as some new laptops now. While it is strictly speaking obsolete as Apple no longer supports running their latest operating systems on, there is nevertheless free software available that permits it to run the latest MacOS operating system. With that software the machine can be used with all new software that runs on the latest MacOS operating system even though the machine is 13 years old. I works quite acceptably with that software so the machine is a very good value. This computer was the last computer Apple manufactured that used the 3.5" SATA form factor for the Disc so any 3.5" SATA Disk will work. Every other Apple after this one will work only with Apple's proprietary disk drive interface designed for solid state drives. This is also the last machine that uses conventional and widely available laptop ram memory modules. This means it is easy to upgrade this computer to accomodate larger disk drives with more storage.

Solid well built, attractive and unusually versatile 24" monitor.

The Picture quality is very good. Certainly more than good enough for normal uses. Even works well in brightly lit places. Everywhere I have used it it has been a solid a dependable and useful. It is also an attractive display without little in the way of distractions. All the buttons are on the front yet blend so well they virtual disappear into the frame. The ability to switch between two computers with either computer or both using DVI or VGA or any mix is a big plus where you need to work with more than one computer at a single work station. The ability to collect and manage all the cables out of sight behind the rear of the monitor is a great plus if the back of the monitor is visible. I have had a number of these for years with only 1 failure. They are definitely built well and versatile because of the ability to switch between computers.
