A well-researched history with great photos.
An excellent publication - spoiled only by poor proof-reading in a few of the photo captions. However, it's still well worth acquiring.

First class history of the Ditsrict Railway's early days.
A very well researched and detailed history of the District Railway in the nineteenth century. The author has presented it all in a very readable style with many maps and illustrations. First class.
