For it's cost it is not money wasted.
It's one of those items I don't have to use to often but is always handy to have. Made of rubber it will collapse down a little making it easy to keep in the kit bag. Using elastic bands to hold it to the camera body I can use it on more than one camera. There is a self adhesive frame which will hold the viewfinder to the camera body if you so wish but this will be more permanent.
On the down side I find the frame a bit unsightly when fitted to the LCD permanently. But using it as a light shade it does the job.

Good value valve.
