Interesting & informative
This book is written in a comfortable familiar style, and covers a lot of ground, discussing the toxicity of rattlesnake venom and the habits & behaviour of the creature. It is informative about rattlesnakes as well as human social behaviour.
I learned a lot about rattlesnakes in New England, and some historical information about Massachusetts and other places.
I had read it before and purchased this copy to give to a friend.

Wonderful kid's book
1 of 1 found this helpful I really love the author E.H. Minarik, as well as the delightful illustrator, M. Sendak (Little Bear series by Minarik, and author/illustrator of Where The Wild Things Are, Higglety Pigglety Pop (Or, There Must Be More To Life), etc).
This is an 'I Can Read' book, simply worded but not simple minded nor stilted.
It tells a lighthearted story about two young siblings, bickering and trying the patience of their older cousin. The story within the story is about two little bickering and disobedient alligator children who face real danger when they dawdle and don't listen to their mother. The life lessons are familiar, and offered with amusing subtlety. The illustrations are charming, with formal, outdated children's fashions. I enjoyed reading this book when my children were small, so I bought this copy as a gift to share with a new small child in my extended family.

Great game!
Best for 6 or more. Also playable with two, 3, 4 or 5 people but I think over 6 players is better.
It's really fun and mentally stimulating. Wasn't sure I was gonna get into it, the first time I played - but we wound up playing into the wee hours cuz we couldn't stop.
