I MUST SAY I DO KNOW RAY WITH THIS COLLECTION
This is an awesome collection of his hits. This brings you back to the hey day of Ray. Ray is splendid in all aspects of genre he ventured into and proved himself in all of them. This collection is a real must have for all of Ray Parker Jr fans and for any collection.
If you are having a hard time obtaining Ray's original album collections which are now on CD and Japan is producing more - Shame on the States for not doing this before them - then this will satisfy your taste buds!
Don't miss out on this collection!
You don't have to live in L.A. to know Ray Parker, Jr really, really well, nor live there during the early mid 80's. The requirement was just to stick to his stuff for years and watch him evolve into the Masterpiece he still is!

"We want the blood trader and the ghost..." Ray is HOT
This flick is reminiscing, 80s. Even though it has a more 70s flair. I liked the movie as it reflected the suffering of how people lived back in the days, in a housing tower. It reflects racism, fear, terror, blood and gore, but humor at the same time. Slightly corny as you cannot believe the head of this gang (a scary Tony Todd) rule and what they get mad about! They take things to the max so much that it is ridiculous! It was good to see a hunted Ray Parker, jr,(telephone repair man) be scared but tough and innovative in trying to survive and help a hunted Gary Frank (down on his luck insurance man - 70's TV's - Family, whom you don't see anymore) get his nerves together and stay focused while helping each other escape a building that a gang is holding hostage. Your heart will go out to Gary Frank as you see blatant racism continue to make him an outcast. A young Stacey Dash, Frances Foster (RIP) as an old lady are pretty bold to help these two survive getting through the halls, stairwells, windows, apartments, and basement against the numerous, vicious, all male gang. Jan Micheal Vincent's crazy portrayal of a disabled vet who's apartment is a dark bunker, (hilarious) takes them in and uses his ability to help them too. A 'baby' Deon Richmond is very smart to help them too. As a kid, his role makes you nervous that he is so young and is dealing with helping the older ones escape.
I must note this flick is laced with profanity, everyone uses it including the young kids which some viewers may silently take issue with. It was a little odd to hear crooner Ray Parker, Jr. who is known for singing sensually of women, for women and to women (musically) calling his lady the 'B word' when she wouldn't re-open her door for him once he went into the hall to help Gary Frank.
I purchased it for one simple reason: I love all things Ray Parker, jr. who stars in this movie and love to see him do anything! I am glad he tried his hand in acting - (he did TV as well). I also missed seeing Frances Foster (RIP) and Gary Frank acting and you see Stacy Dash, Deon Richmond and Kadeem Hardison as teens/kids. This is a good classic of those urban days for your movie collection.

The Partridge Family
2 of 2 found this helpful Each actor/ess is entertaining. It brings me back to an earlier time in life. Very enjoyable, Music and singing is awesome.
David Cassidy is a gorgeous, flawless dream as Keith Partridge with an outstanding voice and Shirley Jones is a beautiful loving mother, smart, busy and a great example of a leader with her family. Danny is a very smart boy and I wish those traits would have stayed with the actor Danny Bonaduce. Susan Dey as Laurie is a loving sister and the two little ones are delightful.
Reuben, Dave Madden, is crazy with what he goes through as their manager. He and Danny are a great team! I love all of the episodes.
