“Very young, and quite raw, actually”.
I had heard that the UK pressings on Parlaphone of the remastered 80’s catalog of Iron Maiden released in 2014, was the way to go. I’ve been buying them in order of their release, and this and KILLERS have been such great, raw albums from a very young band. A lot changed, but the original vocalist definitely made it a slightly more punk affair, which is a fantastic thing. The seeds of writing techniques are down here, and honed greatly on the third record, moving forward. Well worth it, the earliest Iron Maiden is very rocking, nice and raw, and brings me right back to when those records were originally being released..unfortunately, I was unaware at the time, in my small home town, 11 years old.
