Ace film,ace soundtrack
My holy trinity of British gangster films I grew up with are Get Carter,Mona Lisa and The long Good Friday.A few years back I found the Get Carter soundtrack has added dialogue from the film which makes for a fabulous listen,having recently watched The long Good Friday for the first time in a few years and hearing the memorable score again I duly looked it up and ‘blow me’ if there isn’t a 2 disc version with added dialogue available.bought it,love it and whenever I need reminding of the genius is Mr Hoskins (or indeed the mighty Caine from Carter) it is but an iPod away (sadly the Mona Lisa soundtrack has no added dialogue 😩 but is still with a listen.just in case anyone finds this review helpful in any way I’d like to point out that The Sweeney soundtrack also has classic dialogue in between tracks and is a must have.
