    light has loud buzz
The light works, but it has a loud buzz. Since it is an outside light for me, not that big a deal, but for other applications, not so good.

All that glitters is not gold
I bought the Canon Image Class D340 because I thought it was a good deal on a new machine built by a company with a good reputation. There were lots of them for sale on Ebay at rock bottom prices. I received the item and after making 30 copies, the machine broke. Now the fun begins. Apparently Canon had a lot of these machines lying around that were not selling well. So Canon put a big rebate on the machines and sold them like hotcakes. Fine, so lots of people bought them, turned in the rebate and resold them - still in unopened boxes. The only problem was that the machines had been sitting around in a warehouse somewhere and were already over 1 year old when sold. My machine was brand new and was already 2 years old. Since the machines were over one year old and were being sold by other than a Canon Authorized Dealer, there was no warranty on these brand new machines. The Repair Center I talked to explained it was a guide pulley problem and it was a common problem on these machines. The estimated cost of repair was almost the cost of a new machine, so I took the machine apart myself to see the problem. The repair guy was right, the guide pulley had come off the shaft and it was an obvious problem with the design of the clip that held the pulley on. So Canon sold bunches of these machines after offering a huge rebate, the machines had a design flaw with the guide pulley, the machines were not on warranty unless you bought it from an authorized dealer. So a lot of people got stuck with these non-warranty machines that are very likely to have a breakdown from a flawed design. After I got it fixed, it worked fine.
