Hand Weeding

I was looking for some lightweight tools to help with hand weeding up at my allotment and I saw these three beauties being sold as a package. They work very well, small enough to get in-between plants and strong enough to break up the capped soil after the recent rains. I strongly recommend these tools to anyone who needs help with the weeding. They would also be good for someone who has raised beds, where using full size tools can sometimes be awkward.

I enjoy growing vegetables, but I am planning to buy and install a polytunnel in order to extend the growing season, so I purchased this book first and it really is very informative. It covers what type to buy, where best to site it, what are the many benefits and most importantly a monthly what to do and grow list. It has inspired me to go for it and I highly recommend this book to anyone contemplating buying a tunnel before you do and increase your growing season both earlier in Spring and indeed right through the cold winter months. Polytunnels are a lot cheaper to buy than a quality greenhouse, you can get a lot more undercover space to grow not just vegetables but herbs or fruit if you desire.
