Looks great but don't buy for a restricted LX50
I bought this because I thought it looked cool and was for my 59 plate LX 50 2 stroke. And it was significantly cheaper than a genuine one.
The fitting was quite easy. I did need to drill out the holes for attaching to the manifold. But after that fitted fine.
However I have found the following problems.
On my LX 50 59 plate the top of the pipe hits the side of the bike panel. Every time you go over a bump it hits the panel, and has scratched the plastic strip. I had to bend the pipe away from the panel (not an easy job!).
Secondly, attaching the pipe to the LX50 with no modifications (mine is restricted) creates a very odd power curve on the bike. It loses all low end Torque but gains significant high rev power. This means my bike now slows down to 10mph on a hill but accelerates quickly to 30mph when it goes above 15mph.
It is also significantly noisy, too noisy for me as a 40 yo commuter.
So in summary, a nice looking well made pipe, and good value for money. But I wish I hadn't bought it and will be needing to change it after about 50 miles use.
