LALVIN EC-1118 wine yeast
1 of 1 found this helpful Have been using this yeast for years.Though it is targeted at fruit and white wines, it works well for mixed-juice red wine as well. This is a very energetic, hearty yeast which works better in cold conditions than any other wine yeast I've tried. It can resist and overcome airborne yeasts that might infect other fermentations. Only had 1 infected batch in the years I've used it, and that may have been bacterial.
