Good to find online
You don't need the metal parts really, it's the crappy little plastic bit that breaks. Way over priced for 3 bits and pieces, but necessary for using your pressure cooker, so good that they sell them.

Good thimble, if you can get it at a good price. Only thimble I can use, the only downside is that the pup loves to chew them up.

Songbird Carving by Roslyn Daisey
This is a wonderful book about bird carving. She sets the bar high with her expertise, but if you are serious about learning to carve, this is the book to buy.
There are detailed step by step instructions on how to carve and paint several songbirds and she also gives advice on the equipment needed to start carving.
If you want to explore carving and are watching your budget, I would get this book first. I've bought six different song bird carving books and I think that this one is probably the best.
