It ultimately deals with the unapologetic love two father's have for their sons. The Road to Perdition, a title that underscores the dark, dark twisting journey that the viewer must travel until the dramatic inevitable end which actually begins a new untold story. The film is in the best tradition of film noir. Newman and Hanks, who play the fathers, are at their very best. The visually cold, settings all contribute to the ominous mood and the sense of impending doom. A masterpiece of film presentation. A deep and sad tale without offering much emotional release except for the satisfaction of seeing a near perfect work of art. This film stands alone. See for yorself.
