Not Durable, Always a problem, Not sure who makes this for "Ridgid" ryobi makes most other ridgid tools
3 of 3 found this helpful When these first came out, they had a clock spring to transfer power to motor and allow the handle to twist but that would get a little dirt and dust in it and cause non-contact with trigger switch. resulting in a "dead" tool.
Now the field winding is the weakest link and the most expensive part to replace. the motor housing has a copper winding around the armature to create the magnetic pull but the winding overheats and shorts out. the result is a slow runnign motor and arcing accompanies by a burnt toast smell.... exactly.... the tool leaves a burnt toast taste in my mouth.... NOT GLUTEN FREE EITHER.. Lol
