The Mauritius Command.
The fourth novel in Patrick O'Brian's historical series, the story follows Captain Jack Aubrey and Dr Stephen Maturin as they fight the French in the seas around Mauritius.
As usual, O'Brian creates a book full of excitement and action with naval battles and espionage, and with a collection of both real and fictional characters, each with their own individual identities, finished off with natural dialogue and humour, all done with exceptional historical accuracy and a sense of the time in which it is set. A thrilling read and a worthy volume in the Aubrey-Maturin series.
