Simplicity Itself
This is an excellent machine for it's price range. Very user friendly - simplicity itself. I am using it with a 1080i projector and the results are superb. The only minus being the slow response to the Remote Control. Although Philips are an innovative firm, [They developed the Cassette Tape, CD's etc.] I was never a fan of their retail product. This opinion has changed in recent years and I am now the contented owner of a Philips Television also. Would strongly recommend this player particularly for someone that wants "ease-of-use" without too many frills.

Just about acceptable.
A not so enjoyable live recording - Buy the Leontyne Pryce/Carlo Bergonzi (Erich Leinsdorf) instead & you will not be disappointed.

The Mikado (Universal Films) 2005
1 of 1 found this helpful While Sound & picture Quality are good on this 1982 recording, the overall presentation is reminiscent of a 1960's TV Studio Production. It lacks imagination and inspiration. The cast are good overall but William Conrad, in the title role, lacks lustre. A far more exciting show is by the Stratford Festival but the DVD costs considerably more - Clips from that offering may be seen on youtube and I recommend searching for "A More Humane Mikado" by that group.
