Air Conditioner Review
The product came to us in a very poor carton which appeared to be original but obviously had been badly handled. The damage looked old... not fresh. We removed the unit from the box and found it had been previously dropped and there were exterior frame bends and front face cracks. We managed to put it in the window and turned it on. It sounded like a threshing machine. It automatically shut down. We took it out of the outer cage and found the fan interference the caused the problem. The inner frame was bent towards the front. We bent back the frame to shape and shimmed the fan positioning and that fixed that problem. The unit then worked quietly. The end result is that it is working but looks bad with a cracked face and poorly operating vent pointing devices due to the damage to the mechanisms. The unit was installed into a needy person's by a church group. The seller of this unit is not the manufacturer and did not inspect his product. Had there not been a pressing need for the unit to work, we would have returned the unit and incurred the subsequent delay. Had it gone to a normal residence, it would have been returned immediately with about ten serious troubles. Donnybarker
