A brilliant story of winter in the Lake District
An Arthur Ransome classic, with snow, ice, cragfast sheep, a blizzard and lots of Polar explorers!

A broken wrist leaves Rebecca unable to sleep and starting to imagine the impossible...
A good story, but not brilliant. The introduction of Rebecca's old school friend Cliff adds another interesting dimension to the story. The ghost story comes across rather heavily and clumsily.

French friends, exams and Mulberry Island... Rebecca's last term in the Fifth Year
An excellent finale to the Trebizon school stories. Rebecca's exam angst is well depicted, and the increasing dilemma of who really means the most to her... The film star couple who are considering buying Mulberry Island are a bit cheesy, and her french penfriend Emmanuelle comes across a bit melodramatic, but otherwise an excellent ending to the series.
