About
I always try to list items as accurately as possible - even if it means making them sound bad! I would rather that the buyer was pleasantly surprised in the item being better than described rather than disappointed. Obviously mistakes can happen!

Sony Walkman W810i Mobile Phone
1 of 1 found this helpful In my humble opinion the very best phone Sony have produced to date. None of the problems like the K series joystick lack of functionality due to dirt ingress, robust design (and I have dropped every one of the three I have owned - often on concrete) and an excellent battery life to boot! Discontinued by Sony these phones are well worth getting hold of even as a backup.
They are easy to use with good sized buttons. It is rare to press a key you didn't intend to and the only bit you have to keep an eye on is fluff entering the memory stick cover on the side. It take a Pro Duo type which is compatible across quite a few of the Sony range - I interchange mine with my T7 Cybershot camera. Easy to connect to PC although I wouldn't recommend using the Sony software - if you have XP or higher just plug and play. The camera is reasonable quality and has quite a few features. The light can be used independently which makes it extremely useful as a torch. On a number of occasions I have forgotten to switch the light off and have never had the phone go flat before I managed to turn it off - sometimes 6+ hours!
The Walkman headphones can be slightly difficult to seat comfortably in your ear sometimes and because the outer soft rubber cup is so soft they can fall out if you don't clip the cable to your shirt/jacket/tie/other garment. Excellent sound quality for a phone and various equalizer settings (with Mega Bass! - oooh!) makes using it as a Walkman easy. The microphone is sensitive and generally handles other background noise quite well.
Connectivity is good with Bluetooth and all the headsets I have used have good range. The shape is convenient (even if it is a little boring) for most generic car cradles - just don't put it on the top of the dash and expect it to stay there when you corner! It is not the lightest phone and will exit stage left.
All in all an excellent all rounder for my purposes and durable beyond all reasonable expectations. If you keep to the original Sony battery it should last at least three years (all mine have) - in fact I have not had to buy a replacement battery yet. Even for the second hand one I bought as an emergency backup a year ago!
It is not hip and trendy but if you need a phone that will stand the test of time I highly recommend it.

Value for money
2 of 3 found this helpful I chose this item because of the amount of washing that could be hung on it. It is not a small item - even with the sides folded down and you can't race through doorways with it carelessly!
The self-assembly part is slightly difficult because of the design. Bearing in mind that I can assemble a well known Swedish company's furniture without instructions I still found myself triple checking the assembly because it just didn't look as though it would work like that. There is a diagram provided the parts but not detailed instructions. Take comfort from the fact that you can only get it to work in one way - so if the side sections don't stay up then you need to turn them over!
The plastic junction sections were fairly tight and the tubes need a firm hand to get them in securely. The design is reasonable and appears strong which is why I rate it well as value for money. Sometimes I need to be careful in loading things like wet towels because if the side sections are not pushed firmly in then they will collapse as you inadvertently pull the section out whilst getting the item between the bars. Again once you are aware of this it isn't really a problem and in order to get the rack between rooms you will need to put the sides down.
The weakest looking parts are the hanger arms that are located on the top. I suspect that constant flexing on the sides of the plastic pivot part might result in cracks developing in time. Not hanging very heavy items on there is probably a good idea - or if lots of your washing is office wear that needs a hanger then this probably isn't the best rack for you.
