Intriguing.
"The Questor Tapes" by Gene Roddenberry is an imaginative pilot for a television series that was unfortunately never picked up by network executives -- probably the same nitwits who wouldn't renew the original "Star Trek" after 3 seasons (while it's still in reruns 50 years later, with a number of tv spin-offs, and numerous feature films).
"The Questor Tapes" is sci-fi at its best -- creative, intelligent, well written, at times humorous, and emotionally engaging. It would have made a great series. At least it's a great pilot.
