Save yourself a LOT of money!
After a California inspection to register my truck as a "salvage" title, I was informed that my ABS (antilock braking system" needed to be fixed to pass. I took the truck to my mechanic who put it on his computer (non invasive and free of charge) to diagnose the issue. He informed me that it was the driver side ABS sensor and then said he could fix it but that the part (he only uses OEM parts, which I like but remember, this is a salvage) is going to be $568.00 and installation was another $200.00!
I wasn't about to spend that kind of money on a (to me) non essential part of a vehicle so I looked online and found the part here, with warranty for $25.00 shipped. I took the gamble, looked in the repair manual and decided the bet looked safe. It took me an hour and twenty minutes to replace the sensor and fired her up and VOILA! ABS light was not lit and one hour after that, I passed both the California inspection and the DMV inspection and new title and plates were issued.
That's a $743.00 savings!!!
