Not what I would call LARGE

It was described as large but is smaller than my standard one that I got years ago. I see that they put 2L put who knows how that relates with no other benchmark. I wanted something large. I got what I consider small.

Panasonic DMR-EX89 / EX88

I've used Panasonic recorders since the first was launched. This is a good machine with the biggest Hard drive(400g) that Panny do. The quality of recording and playback is good and the editing facilities are basic but adequate for most who just want to remove ads etc. The downside for me is Panasonics further lightening of features namely the removal of some inputs at the rear. Some people will want to use this type of machine for copying or recording from other machines such as Satellite, Video, DVD etc. There are now no S.Video inputs on the back at all. You have to use the single S.Video input at the front of the machine. This means unsightly wiring on view. The only other alternatives are the inferior single RGB Scart connection on the back, or the even worse non RGB Scart. If the lack of connections is not an issue for you then this is an excellent choice of DVD/HDD Recorder.

Inferior to originals but still good value for price

I needed extra battery power before going abroad for holiday as my two old originals Nikon batteries had not been holding their charges that well after 10 years usage. This charged fine and worked fine except I got about half the life compared to my aging genuine Nikons. Still reasonable value though for price
