Solid Centre Speaker and very balanced audio, essential if missing from your R Series setup
Clear sound with a nice db rating making dialogue easy to hear but also explosive when the action kicks in!

Digital 8 is the answer
This little camcorder plays both digital and analog tapes; best bet if you can't remember which format your old footage was captured on! DV out means if you have the correct connections you can capture all of your footage digitally via FireWire cable straight into your computer! Job done.
