St. Paul's Cathedral Choir Andrew Carwood - Carols With St. Paul's Cat NEW CD

THIS ISN'T St PAUL'S - Read the non-existent small print here

Bought this a few days ago.. You would expect from all that is on the cover picture that you are buying Carols from St Paul's Cathedral.. Well that's a bit of a con. It IS the choir, Director and Organist of St Paul's but it has been recorded in St Gile's Cripplegate. I'd say 90% of folk will buy this for the sound of the choir and organ in their own wonderful space. How cheated I feel discovering it is recorded in another venue. Shame on you ClassicFM and Decca. I haven't even put it into the CD player, and I doubt that I will. I am 61, and am still constantly getting reminded that you get what you pay for. Do be aware of this before you buy. The damning sentence is in a very small font at the end of the booklet. The other ClassicFM/Decca St Paul's disc is absolutely stunning - principally because it is recorded in that very wonderful space. THIS IS NOT. It is bordering on sharp marketing practice. Why ever would St Paul's Choir and staff not be able to record in their "own" place? When the Record company think they'll do a cheap job and save a few quid on the venue fee. Not worth the return postage.
