Outstanding microphone for the budget-conscious
2 of 3 found this helpful I bought my used MXL 990 here on eBay about 2 years ago. I use it in my home studio for doing voiceover work, and find it offers incredible performance for the price. Frankly, I don't understand how a microphone that sounds this good can be produced and sold for its retail price, and buying a gently used one here on eBay is a steal. Mine came with the plastic carrying case and shock mount, and I've been absolutely delighted every time I use it. For those of us who can't afford to buy a Neumann, this is a terrific alternative!

Lousy battery cover
The battery cover keeps falling off while handling the shaver. This often results in the batteries crashing into the sink while shaving. I finally gave up and taped the battery cover on.

Excellent product, but installation is tedious
This filtration unit takes up very little space under the sink, and produces excellent-tasting water even here in Florida, where our water is chock full of lime. I did find installing it to be somewhat difficult, since it requires working under the kitchen sink in a rather cramped space. Unless you have lots of patience and don't mind lying on the floor in awkward positions, let a professional install it.
