Damaged, but still wonderful
5 of 5 found this helpful If you're reading this, you have probably gone through a lot of tedious research about the best value for money on an F style mandolin. This is the one you want. Once it is set up, it is magnificent to play and sounds great. You will likely never need to buy a more comfortable one. The reason I give it 4 stars is that when I received it, it had a split from one of the f holes down toward the bridge. The item was advertised as having minor cosmetic wear, but this damage was enough to leave me slightly disappointed, although this is only exclusive to that particular mandolin. I'm still unsure if that split was the cosmetic damage the ad was talking about, or if it happened in transit, since I live so far away. because of that, I will give the benefit of the doubt here. Another buyer is not likely to have the same issue, as long as the type of damage on each individual mandolin is made clear.
Despite all of this, I am certain that anyone from a beginner to an experienced player will fall head over heels in love with this mandolin.
