The Rolling Stones : Sticky Fingers CD Super Deluxe Box Set with DVD 6 discs
26 May, 2021
Legendary!
I can safely skip lavishing my praises on the original, legendary album, however the audio extras on 2 CDs within this Super Deluxe set are superb. That goes especially for the legendary gig from the legendary Leeds University refectory. The Leeds CD also has light-years better audio quality than the cassette bootlog I bought c.1983 at a market stall in Leeds when I was a student there. For me it was worth buying this release for that CD alone. The short essays in the book are well-researched and provide much insight into the Sticky Fingers era of Stones history. Minor niggles: the 7" single not having the same track selection as the original single whose picture sleeve it reproduces(?), and the DVD containing only 2 tracks, both included on the From the Vaults - Marquee 1971 DVD (released the same year as this?). Why not at least have included the legendary Top of the Pops performance of Brown Sugar (Jagger in a pink satin suit)?

Disc plays fine but jewel case and booklet were not a bit ropey
