The Animals - Complete Animals (1990) 2 cd set with 41 tracks from the animals

The "Complete" (well nearly complete) Animals

A great double CD with all the collaborations between the original Animals line-up and Micky Most but not their subsequent material. The Animals were not great composers at that time and relied upon making superb covers as well as arranging traditional songs. However they did compose some great bluesy B sides for their singles and these are all featured as well as all the numbers from their first two LPs including the superb "Animal Tracks". This CD has much more recently been released on a triple vinyl album and fans may well want this as well. The excellent liner notes from this CD, which also tells the story of the Animals in their various subsequent reincarnations, are reproduced on the gatefold cover of the vinyl.

A second tier religous epic

A disappointing film in comparison with Quo Vadis-whilst Victor Mature and the actor playing Caligua are good and there are some good supporting actors especially Jeff Morrow, the main leads are not convincing. The digital copy is excellent and looked great in Cinemascope although there are few genuine outdoor scenes to enjoy.
