Heavy duty? - I'll say!
As with most Manfrotto products this item is sturdily built and performs its simple task brilliantly. It is a little heavy and no doubt this will put some people off lugging it for miles before use but once set up and ready to use it does so faultlessly. This item will last for years and is capable of supporting the heaviest combinations I can imagine. Much prefer this design over the side gimbal arrangements more commonly seen which introduce imbalance when situated between tripod legs during panning. This design evenly distributes the weight to each side of the tripod at all times.
Only improvement I would make would be the QR plate locking lever which is a little difficult to access when a large lens/camera combination is being set up and balanced. An extended or re-shaped lever might help cure this issue.

A strong storage solution!
Well made, will stand some 'industrial' usage. Will buy again in the future.
