Works well
This kit was a good fit for a late 1990s standard meter box. You have to be careful to ensure a tight fit of the split pin in the bottom hinge such that it does not drop out later; it might be necessary to expand it a little with a screwdriver (but not too much).

A good idea, but flawed
The rubber coupling in the SC-GSM is stiff, so low frequency thumps still get through. It cannot perform, therefore, in the same way as a conventional cradle-type suspension mount, but maybe I was expecting too much from it? The female thread on the stand end is the smaller (3/8") type.

A good balance of robustness and lightness
My 22 inch flat screen monitor fits this case well. The case is more protective and robust than a soft case, but lighter and less industrial than a rigid flightcase, which is a good compromise for me. There is a decent amount of space in the thinnest dimension, but I am using a thin specialist mount rather than a conventional monitor stand, so I cannot comment on how well a conventional stand would fit.
