Pop Princes
Although I am betraying my Goth/Grunge credentials by admitting this, I used to be a fan of Erasure's plinky-plonky pop ditties, and indeed owned a few of there earlier albums. Although they have gone seriously off the boil in recent years, this CD is a perfect reminder of why they are one of the classic British pop acts. I actually bought this CD for my girlfriend but can't deny I get a certain guilty pleasure listening to some of the classics on this album. Anyone who is even a passing fan of Erasure won't go wrong buying this CD. Just don't tell anyone I said so.

Recommended for fans of contemporary rock
As 'Later....' is the only live rock show on TV we as viewers are very limited, and often you have to sit through a lot of stuff you don't like to get to one artist you do. This DVD solves the problem for rock fans by compiling tracks from this genre in one handy package ! There are some great performances as you would expect from the likes of the Foos, Screaming Trees, PJ Harvey, BRMC and Mazzy Star. I was also impressed by the likes of Mercury Rev and Soundtrack of Our Lives who I had not heard before but will now look into. The extras (interviews) are good although there could have been a bit more. The only downside is some of the performances by the acts I was most looking forward to are a bit below par (Alice in Chains,Metallica,QOTSA) but still better than most of the dross out there. All in all, highly recommended for any fans of contemporary rock.

She's Lost Control
I agonised over buying this CD for a good while, reading reviews on Amazon etc to try and decide which Grace Jones compilation to buy, and eventually bought the bullet with this one. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. Many of the tracks are cheesy disco and although this possibly stems from my lack of knowledge of her back catalogue, this is not what I was hoping for. Classic covers of 'Private Life' and 'Warm Leatherette' still hold up well but her version of Joy Division's 'She's Lost Control' is bloody awful and many other tracks lack the pervy charm of the likes of 'Pull Up To The Bumper'. As I say, people who are better versed in Ms Jones work may find this a great compilation (tha packaging, it has to be said is very good) but it didn't do it for me.
