Older but proven technology
4 of 4 found this helpful I'm getting some excellent pictures with this lens, my first Prime. I was so impressed I also got the 100mm Macro Prime too. It's not as heavy as I thought. I used to hunt years ago, and this lens and camera weigh less than most rifles. Autofocus/Image Stabilization (2 settings)/Tack Sharp. I'd like the newer model but for now this will do nicely.

Big Price Drop for Quality Ball Head
I've had a "watch" for this to hit my affordability threshold and now that it did, I couldn't be more pleased. I have another great Manfrotto tripod head that supports a heavy telescope/camera rig. I replace it with this for photo shoots and its so much lighter to carry. Very fluid.
