the theme is stated clearly, and is developed cogently
while too wordy for present-day tastes, this work, like all of its author's, is a literary as well as a philosophical work, and has also possibly lost some impact through translation.However, it is classical Kierkegaard, and amply repays the attention one needs to make. Its title gives the theme ,an essentially Christian argument of great reevance to every individual.
