Dead On Arrival

Although the box had clearly never been opened, the television did not turn on at all. There was a power LED, but no other signs of life. I don't think the Apex brand was ever top quality, but obviously sitting in a box for many years was too much for it.

The floppy drives in this system were pretty much shot. They are old belt driven drives and the belts are so old that the spin speed becomes unreliable. I had extra drives on hand and replace them - no problem. Otherwise, the system is in good shape for its age. I'm doing some cleaning and "retrobrightening" and I expect that this will look almost brand new - or at least not as old.
