0 of 1 found this helpful I bought this as an emergency replacement for one I had been using for years needed repair.
I have had various issues with it. It is of Very flimsy construction and platen needs tightening often.
It is Top heavy so when platen is swung away tends to tip over, very unsafe. I screwed mine to the bench.
The Teflon sheet is attached to the platen, I removed this as there was a lot of debris and dust between the two causing issues with vinyl adhesion onto garments. After removing this to clean it I noticed the platen itself was poorly finished with rough and raised areas on the aluminium. Finally, after various complaints about peeling vinyl, I rechecked the platen temp matched the settings. The platen does not reach temperature, not even close. now runs about 100c lower than set, whether this be a controller fault or an element fault I am unsure but either way it is unfit for purpose.
It's a very expensive iron set on low temperature
