Happy to have my old drill as good as new with Samsung INR18650-25Rs
3 of 3 found this helpful I guess we are all used to inflated figures for the capacity of rechargeable batteries. With these Samsungs, you know that they will meet the specs published in the datasheet. They are rated at 2.5Ah, 20A continuous and 100A momentary which makes them ideal for replacing the ancient NiCds in one of my drills. They are not protected which means that they do not have an internal battery management system, but you can add this with something like the Silicon Chip Battery Lifesaver.

Genuine 12-24V lamps
These may be a little more expensive than some other lamps, but you get your money's worth. They have a switch mode regulator to control the lamp current. At 12VDC they draw approximately 275mA, reducing to approximately 145mA at 24VDC indicating that the internal electronics are providing constant current and therefore constant power to the lamp. Of course this is exactly what you want. I like these MR16 lamps, so that where there are E27 sockets I am using adapters.
From a small sample of other lamps of the COB and corncob type I find that some at least of these do not have internal electronics to control the current. They use a simple resistor which means that as the supply voltage varies, so does the lamp current. Some of these claim to be 12-24V but if the current is correct for maximum brightness at 12V, it is too high at 14V and highly destructive at 24V.

OK with a few provisos
Yes to recommended, value and quality with some reservations.
Pros - Sturdy, solid and does the job.
Cons - Very hard on the backside unless you are well padded.
A bit pricey. There are cheaper ones that will do the job.
The aluminium legs are intended to push into sockets on the plastic seat and be retained by spring loaded pins. With mine, the fit was so tight that I had to hammer the legs hard to get them in.
