BioGaia Gastrus Probiotic Supplement chewable tablets/30 tabs.

Half alive

After reading about the great reviews of home made L.Reuteri, I bought this to make yogurt. Very hit-and-miss. First batch was a total failure, just stinking sour milk with some jars totally curdled, and the lids burst off (see photos). So I cut back on the fermentation time to 24 hours and out of 7 jars, 5 actually turned into yogurt. The other 2 were still very milky, so I left them for another 12 hours, but again they just went sour. All of this suggests that BioGaia Gastrus is not a "live" product as claimed. I've used other probiotic tablets to successfully make yogurt, and I've used a Bulgarian culture too. It should be as straight forward as adding the culture to the boiled milk and then setting the timer on the machine. All I can say is, if you are buying this to make yogurt, expect to have a buy a few packs before getting a good quality yogurt. If you are looking for a good quality probiotic tablet/capsule, this is not recommended. Any probiotic having “live bacteria” should easily make yogurt. I mean, even a few spoonfuls of natural yogurt from a supermarket will do that. It's the problem with an unregulated market, they can make whatever claims they so choose about their product, but I would not say this one is true. They may claim to be "driven by science", but that doesn't mean the culture in their product is actually live. Which is what you need if you expect a result from a probiotic.

Quality

Having used both original HP ink and the compatible cartridges, I now only ever use the original official HP ink. It never clogs up, goes much further, and gives far better quality print. Plus there isn't that much of a price differential.
