I am a small seller specialising in these impressive little Sony cameras. I am a keen hobbyist photographer owning two myself, and have learned a few things. One thing in particular is knowing how to refurbish the original display screen which gets easily scratched and seriously marked during its life making them look ugly. In my experience this happens to varying degrees of "spectacularity" on alot of these Sony cameras, and particularly on the older NEX models. I rarely come across any NEX's that hasn't got any unsightly annoying marks or blotches on the screen, and it can sometimes be impossible to spot these on some eBay listing images.
My time spent refurbishing these cameras includes a thorough clean, screen refurbishment where appropriate, and checking the functions with the function wheel. I will replace the function wheels if they are glitchy which can be fairly common, and this is generally not related to the camera usage - it just happens.
