A thorough if somewhat dry commentary
1 of 1 found this helpful Part of an impressive series of Bible commentaries, this book is well researched and thorough. I find it a little dry, given its subject matter, and at times repetitive. I can overlook all that though because the Holy Spirit is the power who guides and inspires open-hearted Christians today, and we should understand our need for him in our lives. This book certainly helps with that.

Well worth a read.
I discovered Jon McGregor’s writing through reading Reservoir 13 and was keen to read more of his work. Unique, pared back, restrained style which I really like. Worth a read.
