Too much power made Henry a bad, bad boy.
Just as great as I remembered! Excellent actors portrayed money-grubbing, power-hungry men while most of the queens employed subtle expressions to show what they were thinking. If Anne Boleyn was accurately depicted, the scheming, greedy little shrew pretty much got what she deserved. I especially found Anne of Cleves interesting .... and smart enough to get out intact! In addition to the great acting, the costumes were beautifully done esp for TV, the sets were appropriately drab, and the effects of power out of control were an excellent portrayal of court life under Henry VIII. Now I'm ready for Elizabeth I. Lopping off heads didn't really deter crime under Henry; I'll see if drawing and quartering worked for Elizabeth!
